Earlier this week, I was opening one of the many holiday cards that vendors send at the holidays. They are usually predictable. This one was so pretty and unusual that I’m compelled to share it with you.

Inside the handmade card was this pyramid-shaped ornament that folded flat inside the card. A dove hangs on raffia beneath it — very lovely and extremely tasteful.

This is networking at its very best. Credit goes to Pamela Porath of Porath’s Cabinetry West Palm Beach, Fla. Special thanks to Dawn Garbounoff for unfailingly including me in her database, in spite of the fact that she was not awarded a contract she bid on for me. This was a regrettable turn of events. To be sure, that was an error for the way the job went in hindsight.

This should be a lesson to all of us in business to maintain all contacts and that a little taste, style and imagination go a long way.
