In the course of decision-making for this project, this wall paneling has become a Park Avenue football.  Does it stay or does it go? That’s been the question.

When the restoration numbers came in exceeding six figures, it was decided that it must go.

Originally, this fine hand-carved paneling was salvage from the Fleischmann estate and adorned the library when the client purchased the property. It always looked to me as though it was from a much larger room that could handle the scale and heaviness. Our room is barely 11 feet wide.

I agreed at the beginning that it would be best if it were sold again as salvage. Back to the drafting table.
